Health Literacy Training Continues in Kayseri as Part of the SIHHAT Project

Funded by the European Union and implemented by the Ministry of Health's General Directorate of Public Health, the SIHHAT Project continues its training activities in Kayseri with the aim of facilitating access to healthcare services for migrants and improving health literacy.

In October and November, various training sessions targeting different groups were held at the Kocasinan No. 02 Empowered Migrant Health Center and Mustafa Tatar Elementary School.

At the training session on “The Importance of Vaccination” held at the center on October 31, 2025, families were informed about the role of vaccination in preventive health services, the vaccination schedule, and possible side effects after vaccination. The training was completed with the participants' questions being answered.

On November 3, 2025, an informational training session on “Tobacco Addiction” was held at the same center, addressing the health effects of tobacco use. The training ended with a question-and-answer session.

The in-service training held on November 4, 2025, was conducted for institutional staff as part of the “Baby-Friendly Center Activities and Training.” The training emphasized baby-friendly practices and the importance of breastfeeding.

On November 5, 2025, a training session on “Personal Hygiene” was given to third-grade students at Mustafa Tatar Primary School. Students were taught hand washing habits, personal care, and basic hygiene rules.

These activities carried out in Kayseri aim to strengthen health awareness among both children and adults and increase the effectiveness of preventive health services.
